Last night I had the privilege of an educational and edifying evening learning about American Ryes as a guest of Scott & Nix, who are researching, writing and designing a new and to be definitive book about American bourbons. Good times.
Of the four we reviewed last night, the Whistle Pig and the Masterson’s seemed to rate the favorites with the 6 of us. The scientific approach devolved at one point and I also tried some Eagle Rare and Michter’s bourbon, which were quite nice too. In more than my opinion the Hudson (although a local upstart) is more about hype than the whiskey. I would spend my money on others.

A Brief History of John Baldessari (by gosupermarche)
“1. Talent is Cheap.
2. You have to be possessed, which you can’t will.
3. Being at the right place at the right time.

Good friend, Greg Lamarche gave a great talk about his history and process of creating art, graffiti and collage work last night at the Type Directors Club. Homie crushed it on the mic.
Huge inspiration. Where he said he started by making flyers for fake bands, that was identical to my own experience. Probably around 7th or 8th grade. Fake flyers and I would post them at the Princeton Record Exchange.
Good Time at T-World x Staple x Reed Space party last night
